Leafblowers, as their name suggests, are tools that propel air out of a nozzle specifically to move leaves but also to move other debris. They are typically used in garden and grounds maintenance. Although electric leaf blowers are available, the petrol versions are more common due to the range required by users.

Petrol leaf blowers are generally self-contained, handheld units or are back mounted units with a handheld wand. Back-mounted units are particularly useful for prolonged periods of use. Most petrol leaf blowers are powered by two-stroke engines, but four-stroke versions have recently been introduced due to concerns about air pollution. More expensive blowers have an anti-vibe system to reduce vibration, and if you are likely to use it for any more than 30 minutes at a time we would always recommend getting one of these.

Vacuum Shredders

Some blowers can also be used as vacuum shredders. Instead of blowing the leaves, they can be switched to vacuum mode where they suck them in and shred them into a bag.

All vacuum shredders can be used as blowers, but not all leaf blowers can be used as vacuum shredders.

The ‘D’ version comes with catalytic converter and standard accessories can turn the vacuum shredder into a powerful leafblower too.

Stihl Backpack Blowers are mainly used for effectively and efficiently clearing fallen leaves, grass or wastepaper from public areas or large private estates.
