Ride on Mowers

We can supply a great range of Ride On Lawnmowers and Lawn Tractors from famous brands like Husqvarna, Mountfield and Toro.

If required, we can arrange a demo in your own garden, allowing you to see how the mower will cope with your particular requirements and then be able to make an informed decision on your garden machinery investment.

There are a large number of factors to think about when buying a ride on mower – front cut or mid deck, mulching or collection (or both), front wheel steer or rear wheel steer, and so on.

Mulching or Collection Mowers

A mulching mower chops up the grass cuttings finely and leaves them on the lawn to help feed and nourish it. A 1/4 acre lawn can produce up to 2 tons of grass clippings in a year, so a mulching lawn mower can save you a lot of time and effort as well as avoiding unsightly piles of grass clippings.

A collection mower will collect the grass clippings which will leave the lawn looking neater, and allows you to compost the grass cuttings. You will not need to mow the lawn quite as often as with a mulching mower. Many collection mowers now have attachments to convert them into mulching mowers, allowing you to use whichever method suits you at the time.

As Mountfield dealers, we can provide their full range of Ride On Mowers and Lawn Tractors. We have listed a selection of Mountfield Ride On Mowers to give you a feel of what they can do. They all come with an extended warranty and remember that we can also arrange a demonstration in your own garden.

Husqvarna is one of the world’s premier garden machinery brands, and although many of their models are aimed more at professional users there are some excellent Husqvarna Ride Ons to suit the discerning residential property owner.

Walk-Behind Mowers

Hampshire Garden Machinery can supply a tremendous range of Walk-Behind Mowers – sometimes known as pedestrian mowers – and the choice can be bewildering. Whether they are self-propelled mowers or hand-propelled mowers, they are also often referred to as push mowers.

Our trained sales staff will be able to discuss your requirements and advise on the best lawnmower for you.

Robotic Lawnmowers

A robot to mow the lawn has for many people been a dream they thought would never come true. But the Husqvarna Automower has changed that dream into a reality. It has taken the cordless lawnmower to the next level where the mower cuts the grass for you. Inspired by how grazing sheep cut just a little at a time, in a random pattern, the Husqvarna Automower robotic mower has been designed to give you the perfect lawn – while you do nothing!

After 20 years of engineering and refinements, the Automower range is now available in its third generation with advanced features such as anti-theft security, automatic charging and pre-programming so you can decide when to mow the lawn.

Robotic Lawnmower Features

Environmentally Friendly The Automower series of Robotic Lawnmowers cut the grass without producing harmful emissions, and with limited noise. They are therefore ideal for residential areas, and also hotels and leisure facilities, and office locations.

Beautiful Results

The unique cutting system has three razor-like cutting blades to make clean cuts. Shorter clippings mean better fertilising, an excellent cutting result, and with no moss and less energy consumption.

Hassle-Free Charging

Fully automatic charging – the robot knows when it needs to be charged. When it is running short of power it automatically returns to the charging station without undesirable tracks forming.

Perfectly Cut Lawn

The Automower cuts a little, all the time, in a seemingly random pattern. This results in better cutting and eliminates any need for collection of the clippings.

Robotic Lawnmower Prices

If you think a robotic lawnmower is too expensive, think again. The Husqvarna Automower range starts at around £1,000 for the Automower 105 (as of 2013) which is suitable for a cutting area of about 600 m², or about 1/8 acre (+/- 20%). This is not much more than the cheapest ride on mowers on the market!

If you assume only a 30 week mowing season, cutting the lawn once a week, with each cut taking about 2 hours, the Automower will save you about 60 hours of labour. At only £8 per hour, this will save you £480 – every year! So, in 2 years the Automower will have almost paid for itself in labour costs alone. For many people, their leisure time is worth a lot more to them than £8 an hour.
